Special Thanks to Bob Emrick, Volunteer of the Year It is not every day that a teen will find someone that they feel like they can trust and confide in. For two years, Bob Emrick, has put his hard work in to helping the boys of House of Hope Orlando succeed in their goals. Upon retiring, Bob decided that there was no better way to give back to the community than to help these struggling teens fight through the trials and tribulations of their teen years. “From working with the boys on a daily basis, I’ve learned a lot more than I’ve done.” Bob works with the boys, helping them to build a stronger character and determining their goals. When a new boy enters the program Bob sets up a goal with him immediately. This goal is for the boy to complete the program to phase two. Once they have completed phase two, Bob rewards the boys by taking them out to dinner and buying them a new pair of shoes. This is also the boy’s opportunity to meet Bob’s family and establish a lasting friendship with the Emricks. Bob was named Volunteer of the year, 2007 for his hard work at House of Hope. We are blessed to have him as a volunteer and continue to look forward to the positive influence he offers these boys daily. | Top |
